20 regular size pancakes

An indulgent way to start the morning. Franzese’s gourmet Hot Chocolate Pancakes are sure to elevate your morning and start you off on the right note.


  • Sugar 80 grams
  • Franzese Hot Chocolate 160 grams
  • Milk Powder (non instant) 20 grams
  • 1 Whole egg
  • Baking Powder 10 grams
  • Baking Soda 6 grams
  • Flour 220 grams
  • 1 ½ cups of Milk or Water
  • ½ cup of Canola Oil


  1. Preheat your (electric) griddle
  2. Mix all of the dry ingredients into a bowl. Set and secure with
  3. whisk attachment. Dry stir for 10 seconds.
  4. Measure, combine and warm milk and oil, approx. 104F/40C. If using a scale, measure both in weight!
  5. While mixer is running, add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mix on low speed for 1 min.
  6. Stop mixer and scrape down the sides of bowl. Increase the speed to #4 and whip for 30 seconds.
  7. Stop the mixer and again, scrape down sides of bowl. Then resume whipping at speed #4 for 1 minute.
  8. Allow the batter to rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Lightly oil your preheated griddle or non stick pan.
  10. Using a portion scoop or ladle to make approx. 5inch wide pancakes.
  11. Cook over medium heat until pancakes are ready to be flipped, approx. 1-1.5 min.
  12. Finish cooking on other side, approx. 1 minute. Repeat with remaining batter, stack them high and cover with your favorite maple syrup and nuts!



To make pancake cooking easier – transfer pancake batter to a clean plastic (water) bottle to dispense!
